I was lucky enough to get the chance to talk to Patrice O’Neal a couple weeks ago, on 10/11/11. He was nice enough to spend forty-five minutes of his time sharing his thoughts on the world of comedy, his love/hate relationship with the industry, the story behind his famous set at this year’s Charlie Sheen Roast, Opie & Anthony and a whole lot more. Today (10/26) the entire world was shocked and saddened to find out that Patrice suffered a stroke last week. There is nothing I’d like more than to be sharing this interview under better circumstances but I feel compelled to pass along the very passionate words of wisdom that a true comedic visionary shared with me that day. I regret not posting it as soon as it was taped. My thoughts and prayers are with Patrice and family. -Scott
